LinkedIn verification is free — and worth doing
No notability test, no subscription, and a badge most people have not bothered to get. It also happens to be one of the sources AI assistants cite most.
How do you get verified on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn verification is free and comes in several forms: identity verification through a government ID partner, workplace verification confirmed by your employer through its LinkedIn Page, and email verification of a work or educational address. It is not based on notability or follower count, and there is no subscription. The badge appears in the About section and beside your name in search and feed.
LinkedIn appears in roughly one in seven ChatGPT Search answers, which makes a verified, complete and consistent LinkedIn profile one of the cheapest things you can do to shape what an assistant says about you. It is free and most people have not done it.
The routes, and what each one proves
- Identity verification through LinkedIn’s ID partner — confirms you are a real named person
- Workplace verification issued by your employer’s LinkedIn Page
- Work email verification on a company domain
- Educational email verification for students and alumni
- A complete profile with a photo and consistent employment history
How we handle LinkedIn
This is mostly guidance rather than casework, and we price it accordingly — usually as part of a broader verification or entity case.
- 1
Profile audit
Name, title, employment history and dates checked for consistency with everywhere else you appear. Inconsistency is what breaks entity resolution.
- 2
Verification route
Which of the free routes you qualify for, and in what order.
- 3
Company Page setup
Workplace verification requires the employer to have a Page and to issue it. Often that is the actual blocker.
- 4
Entity alignment
The profile made consistent with your Wikidata item, your site’s structured data and your other platforms.
- 5
Proof

What we will not claim
- LinkedIn verification is free and you can do it yourself today. We will tell you that rather than invoice you for it.
- We cannot verify a workplace that has no LinkedIn Page, or an employer unwilling to issue it.
- This badge confirms identity. It does not confer authority, and nobody should read it as endorsement.
