Dispute a G2 review on the evidence

G2 verifies its reviewers, which cuts both ways: fake reviews are rarer, and the ones that slip through are easier to challenge because there is a verification record to point at.

Can a G2 review be removed?

G2 operates a formal dispute process for vendors. A review can be removed where the reviewer is not a verified user of the product, where there is a conflict of interest such as a competitor or an employee, where the content breaches the community guidelines, or where factual claims about the product are demonstrably false. G2 does not remove reviews for being critical, and it publishes a moderation policy it applies consistently.

G2 is the most process-driven of the review platforms, and a dispute that cites the moderation policy clause and attaches product usage data is handled seriously. It is also the one where a sloppy dispute is most likely to be rejected outright.

Grounds G2 acts on

  • The reviewer cannot be verified as a user of the product
  • A competitor, an employee, or a partner with an undisclosed interest
  • Demonstrably false factual claims about product capability or pricing
  • A review of a different product, or the wrong vendor
  • Profanity, personal attacks, or confidential information
  • An incentivised review outside G2’s own sanctioned programmes

How a G2 case runs

  1. 1

    Assessment

Matched to the moderation policy. Critical-but-accurate reviews are named as such and not charged for.

  2. 2

    Usage evidence

Account records, licence history, support tickets — the data that shows whether the reviewer used the product at all.

  3. 3

    Dispute

Filed through G2’s vendor process with the clause cited and the evidence attached.

  4. 4

    Escalation

A declined dispute is taken back to G2 moderation once, with anything new.

  5. 5

    Response strategy

Where the review is accurate, a vendor response addressing the specific complaint is the realistic win, and we draft it.

  6. 6

    Proof

A screenshot of the product profile without the review, and the score before and after.

What we will not claim

  • A verified customer’s critical review of your product is not removable, and should not be. Answer it instead.
  • We do not post fake positive reviews to bury a real one. Every platform detects it, the penalty is worse than the review was, and a business caught doing it loses the profile rather than the review.
  • We will not dispute a review solely because it hurt a comparison grid position.
  • The platform decides. We document the breach and escalate it; nobody outside the platform can delete a review, and anyone claiming an inside contact is lying to you.
