Amazon feedback and product reviews
Two completely different systems with two completely different rulebooks. Seller feedback is frequently removable; product reviews almost never are.
How do you remove negative feedback on Amazon?
Amazon strikes seller feedback that breaches its policy — feedback that is really a product review, feedback about delivery on an order fulfilled by Amazon, obscene or personal content, or feedback containing personal information. It is requested through Seller Central. Product reviews are governed separately and are only removed for breaching community guidelines, such as promotional content, conflicts of interest or abuse; a genuine buyer’s negative product review is not removable.
Never contact a buyer to ask them to remove feedback in exchange for anything — a refund, a replacement, a discount. Amazon treats that as review manipulation and the penalty is account-level, not feedback-level. It is one of the fastest ways to lose a selling account.
Seller feedback Amazon will strike
- Feedback that is a product review rather than a comment on the seller
- A delivery complaint on an order fulfilled by Amazon
- Obscene, abusive or personal content
- Personal information in the feedback text
- Feedback entirely about a third-party carrier on an FBA order
- A duplicate of feedback already left for the same order
How an Amazon case runs
- 1
Classify first
Seller feedback or product review. They are different systems with different odds, and most sellers arrive conflating them.
- 2
Match the policy
For feedback, the specific strike category. For product reviews, a community guideline breach or nothing.
- 3
Request through Seller Central
Citing the category, with the order and fulfilment data attached.
- 4
Escalation
A declined request goes back once through Seller Support with the record restated.
- 5
Proof
A screenshot of the feedback profile, and the rating before and after.
The specifics
- Priced
- Per item, charged only where grounds exist
- Frequently removable

- Rarely removable
- A genuine buyer’s product review
- Typical timeline
- 2 to 14 days for feedback strikes
- Counts as delivered
- The feedback is struck or removed, evidenced by a screenshot
What we will not claim
- A genuine negative product review from a real buyer stays. Amazon is unmoved on this and attempting it risks the account.
- We will not contact buyers to trade anything for feedback removal. That is review manipulation and the penalty lands on your selling account.
- We do not post fake positive reviews to bury a real one. Every platform detects it, the penalty is worse than the review was, and a business caught doing it loses the profile rather than the review.
- The platform decides. We document the breach and escalate it; nobody outside the platform can delete a review, and anyone claiming an inside contact is lying to you.
